June favorites

Hey ho to all of my readers, it's favorites time! I honestly thought that I skipped a month, and thought about would it be wise to do a new favorites post if I ended up missing one... But turns out, I didn't. Yay premature alzheimer's. Anyway, before we get started, I think I promised to announce the results for the first school I applied for ( Turku Vocational Institute ), for which I had to go through pain to acquire.

As I mentioned before, the results were due to the 12th of June, and on that date nothing happened. Since it was borderline painful to wait for the results, I gave a call to the team that did the psychological part of our exam. They said, that they will only give out the results of our evaluation, not the verdict of whether I'd gotten into the school. Then they directed me to call to the city of Turku for more info. I did call them, and they redirected me to the school I applied for, who then redirected me to the person who actually knew stuff. After a little bit of digging, it turns out I'm on the waiting list as number 5. I had mixed emotions about this, since they accepted just a little over 40 people, from which 28 were from middle school and 16 had a high school background. I think well over 5000 people applied in total for the beauty section I applied for ( I was going for hair, some were going for makeup artist etc. ) I felt like I did well, considering I wasn't really on top of my game that day.. Either way, it's such a low number, that I can't for certain say if I have a chance to get in. I'll get a call or a envelope if I do get in.. I've heard that people from such high numbers as 23 have been accepted, but I'm not going to throw a party just yet. I'll happily stay pessimistic.

Other things that are happening soon enough are the unveiling of my Uni exam results, as well as my puppy's sterilization on next Wednesday. We're not taking chances with her, since we want her to have a long and a happy life.. Also, since she is more on the super rowdy kind of side, we're hoping spaying her will tone down her behavior as well. I'm just really anxious about leaving her for a whole day.. Apparently we need to take her to the vet at 7:30 AM and she'll be there for the entire day.. I know it's a routine procedure, and we even picked a new method that is less invasive and she'll heal from it faster... But the last time I left my dog anywhere, she got put down. Not really a fond memory. Can't really put it off either, so better to get it over with.

~

Now, to my June favorites. I haven't had a lot this month, but I'll happily still share them with you.
First off is a TV-series called Grey's Anatomy, which most of you must know. The last season finale just aired in our country previous week, and I couldn't help myself but to rewatch all of it. I've binge watched a few seasons already, and it feels amazing to relive most of the shocks the series has offered me.

For those of you who do not know this particular series, it's a medical drama with relationships and hospital life. I've actually watched all of the episodes at least once in my life, but it's well worth a second watch. I do highly recommend it for all of you, who enjoy any kinds of dramas.

Another thing I've been enjoying this month, is baking. And with baking I mean all sorts of baking. I've actually made something every day for two weeks. That includes bread, rolls, pie, strawberry crumble, cupcakes, selfmade pepperoni warm sandwiches ( obviously from the bread I've made ), pizza, strawberry jam filled cookies... Even more than those, I can't even recall them all. I'll attach a few pictures from what I've made, but sadly I don't have pictures from everything. Now I've tried to tone down the obsessive baking because I don't have enough mouths to eat it all, but now I'm feeling the urge to make something again... Maybe something sweet?

~

Another one of my June favorites is my new hair. Those of you who do not follow me on Facebook or Instagram might not know that I actually chopped most of my glorious mane off. Yeah, I did that. I had so much trouble with the layering making 50% of my hair hang loose like a god damn mullet, and I couldn't do much anything with it since most of the color layers I had on that part, were red. You just can't bleach away 5 years of red dye. So I just cut it all off. Surprisingly, it looks really cute on me. Who knew

That's it for today guys, thanks for tuning in, stay classy, and remember that your oppa loves you.

Review: SKINFOOD Red Orange and honey mask

Hey guys, I'm finally done with the review I promised. As the title says, it's for the SKINFOOD mask I bought for my birthday ( post here ). Let's get started!

~

SKINFOOD isn't the most cheapest answer to skincare, in my opinion. But, their products are mostly organic materials, and I can't say no to things made out of fruits and vegetables.. This particular product drew me to it with its super cute packaging, that reminds me of a rustic honey jar. Of course that was the intention too, and it should also come with a honey spoon, that I unfortunately did not receive. No harm done though, I was more than pleased with the product itself. I apologize for the poor quality pictures in this post, I didn't want to drag my expensive camera to the damp environment which is my morning shower. Also, sorry for the looks of the package, I admit I've used it more than once before I got around into doing this post.

Here is the product packaging. The little pamphlet tells what this jar contains, and where it came. This particular product was honey and red orange mask, and the red orange was from California, according to the pamphlet. There's also instructions in it, but this mask is super easy to use.

Here's how the product looks like. There's a thick coat of honey on the top, and a thin but really hard shell of sugar in the bottom. What you're supposed to do, is mix these two layers together with the spoon that comes with. It's quite hard to mix them when the jar is full of honey, and it isn't the most cleanest job. Also, the sugar is really tough underneath, so you might have to use some arm muscle to get the mix going. Also, don't fret, the sugar will settle down beneath the honey after you are done using this mask, and you will have to mix the two layers when you want to use it again.

Say hello to my razor which I used to mix this

Here's how the consistency should be after mixing. It's really grainy and sugary, and perfect for applying. What you should do, is have damp skin, borderline wet, before you apply this. Otherwise it'll be a pain to spread this mixture, since you know how honey is when it gets in touch with dry skin. After that, spread a copious amount of the mixture all over your skin, and a little bit of extra on your problem areas ( T-area, chin, tip and sides of your nose, cheekbones etc. )  Just remember, masks are always used on clean skin. This won't work if you just lather it on your unprepared face.

This should be a perfect amount, just in case you don't know wtf to do or just enjoy sexy naked cheeks. After you have spread the mixture, you're supposed to rub this with your fingertips in circular motion for a few minutes, or as long as you think you need to. I thought that it was kind of hard to rub the mask after spreading, since it became kind of stiff and super sticky after a few seconds. What I did, was hold my fingers under hot water before rubbing, which made the stickiness disappear, and the mask became more workable. After you are done with the rubbing, just rinse with luke-warm water, says the instructions, but that can leave your skin feeling sticky after. I suggest you rinse with really hot water, which will get the excessive amounts of honey leave your skin. Just don't use scalding hot water.

Here's the end result. You guys might not notice anything different, but my skin became even and my pores disappeared. There's no signs of dead skin or blackheads or anything. It's basically the best mask I've ever used in my whole life. After washing the product, even with hot water, your skin might feel a tad sticky, and my solution is toner. You should always use toner anyway, but it really gets rid of the slimy feeling, if you have any. After lotioning my skin, it feels perfect, especially after having a 3 day break from skincare and my face started feeling droopy and unclean already.

~

This product is really perfect for me, and I recommend it to everybody. It lasts long, since the amounts you use don't drain on the product at all ( I've used it around 5 times already and the jar is still over half full. ) It feels like it's not cheap, but the amount you get for a little over 10 euro, is more than enough to pay itself back.

~

That's my review for this time, sorry that I'm so late in doing it, and thank you all for reading! Stay classy, y'all <3

37

Heya guys,

sorry for the short break between posts. I've just been, well, lazy. I still feel like the exam stress is making me a bum, but, I guess I can't use that as an excuse anymore. I've been meaning to make a post about that SKINFOOD mask I received, but I never got around to doing it. I'm a lazy photographer. I even used a big part of it, so now the packaging is smudged and I'll look super unprofessional. I promise I'll get it done, just don't know when. This post, I'm afraid, will be full of rant and not much anything important.

As some of my readers may know, my University of Applied sciences entrance exam results should have been released already, but they haven't been. I'm stressing my brains out. They were supposed to be given at the 12th, but they only released the nurse school results, and after that, they've been releasing a school per day. I'm slowly being driven nuts here. I kind of want to know should I be searching for a place already, even if I feel like I fucked the whole exam up. But still, I'd rather be put out of my misery in a faster pace. I guess I shouldn't complain, at least I have a slim chance, unlike some others.

What I've been doing to dull out the pain, is play excessive amounts of World of Warcraft. Just broke my record at reaching max level, 3 days and 2 hours. Congrats on achieving absolutely nothing, me. If there's any of you that follow me and play WoW, either add my chars on Argent Dawn:
Lleii
Kiriell
Mûdi

or just add my battletag

Strawwiesh#2234

I'm so sorry about all the delays lately, it's just such a hectic time. I do hope you keep on reading, because I'll be doing my next post as soon as my entrance exam news are out. Until then, thank you for bearing with me, I love you guys, and stay classy <3.

Review: Etude House Collagen Eye patch

You probably remember when I ordered my ebay haul ( post here ) and promised to review the items? Well, first off, we're going to go with the Collagen eye patch from Etude house, that I was the most excited about.

 ~

The products arrived in a cardboard box, and when I opened it, I was greeted by this cute little message with buttload of typos. I think it's hilarious, and adorable, kind of.

In addition to the items that I ordered, I got a lot of samples!

What I got extra:

3 x Tony Moly I'm Real Aloe Soothing Mask
3 x Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream, Bright Fit
Etude House Face Conditioning cream SPF 25
Etude House Sunprise sun lotion SPF 50

~

Here's the packaging. It arrived in these small packs that contain two pads, one for each eye ( naturally.. ). They're one use only! The packaging itself is really cute, in a baby pink tone. When you open it up, the inner side of the foil packaging is pretty darn sticky, since the collagen is literally everywhere. The pads themselves are in a clear plastic casing, so the spillage isn't as bad as it could be.

~

What you're supposed to do, is open up the plastic container, and separate the ( very thin ) layers of pads from each other. Between the pads there's these plastic see-through criss-cross pattern pieces, that you should remove. At first I had some trouble, since I couldn't tell apart the plastic from the cotton pads, but trust me, they're there. Just prick the heap of pads until you can separate them.

After you have done so, just apply these pads directly under your eyes after toning and lotioning your skin. Lotioning isn't a must, but it won't hurt you to do it before. If you do it after, you'll get collagen residue all over yo face gurl. After applying, let them sit for at least 15-20 minutes. I've heard people having them over night, which is a fine way too, but remember that the effects only last a few hours.

~

In my experience, this worked extremely well. It got rid of my undereye puffiness, and I feel like it lightened my dark circles effectively. As I already pointed out, the effects only last for a few hours, but it's a great plus to my normal makeup routine. The pads themselves weren't expensive at all, but since I only have a few, I wouldn't want to waste them on a makeupless day. I highly recommend you getting these, they are 100% worth your money!

~

And I'm happy to inform you that all of my other items have arrived as well! I'll be reviewing the Skinfood mask pack as well, but the toner was pretty standard good quality toner so I won't bother with a review. I will, however, make a post where I have pictures of them all. You know, because I got my super cute phone cases as well. Oh, and I ordered a new mouse because mine died on me. I'll probably be posting a picture of that too. Thanks for tuning in, stay classy folks. <3

Hey guys,

now my exams are finally over. I did the best I could, though I feel increasingly bad about how I did. I think I did well..? Hopefully that feeling is right. The results for the first school I applied for are released on the 12th of June, and the Uni results are released on the 7th of July. I'll keep you guys updated, but I won't talk about this any more further than this.. It makes me feel all jittery.

When we arrived back home after my exam, I noticed that my Boy London x Long clothing package had arrived ( from this post ) ! We snatched the notification slip from our mailbox, and drove to the post office. Apparently the mailman tried to ring our doorbell, but since nobody was home, he brought the parcel to our local mail office ( even though the parcel was small enough to fit into our mailbox.. ). I'm going to give you a little 'unboxing' and a review on the items that I received.

~

This is how the box looked when I unwrapped it from the plastic bag. I absolutely love the box, though it's a tad dented.. Damn the post man for not being gentle. The box is made out of simple cardboard, and it's plain white on both sides besides for the Long clothing symbols on the right side up.

The items were wrapped in this thin paper, that made me actually happy. I think all girls love having this paper in their shoe boxes, because it makes us feel classy and like we bought something super luxurious. After you shift the paper, you can see the items overlapped.

Here's the tags to identify the clothes as legit. I was pretty darn excited at this point.

Here are the items taken out of the vacuum bag. They are so glorious. Mom was devastated that I bought such 'plain t-shirts' for such a high price, but you can't put a price on quality. As I stated before, both items are unisex and one size fits most. My normal shirt size varies from small to medium, and they both were oversized on me.

Here I am wearing both items. I've got to say that my absolute favorite is the boy london tee, since it is oversized enough that I can wear it without any pants underneath. Pantlessness is true freedom, everybody knows that. Oh and I apologize for the little photobomber in the back.

Just for reference, the package took one week to arrive, and the whole thing cost 103 euro. If you don't mind paying for good quality, I suggest you get something from either Long or Boy. It's really worth it.

~

That's it for today. Oh, and btw, both of my etude house items arrived, and I already tried the collagen patches on. I'll give you guys a review in a few days time. Until then, stay classy, and thank you for reading my blog! <3
