May favorites

I'm here with a new favorites post! And on time! Praise Hesus. Please appreciate my post for today, since I got freshly painted nails, and I'm typing like a seal. Literally. I'm slapping the keys with my fingers. So you better appreciate. But, enough with the useless chatting, let's get started before I crinkle up my polish.

~

Let's start with what I've been eating.

I bought these little cookie-like snacks from our towns Filmtown ( a company that rents out movies ) a while back, and I can say I became instantly addicted. These cheese and onion flavored cookies are from the company Snatt's and honestly, I haven't seen these anywhere else except the rental place. They are made from all natural ingredients, including fried onions and olive oil. They are pretty oily as well, but super crunchy and the flavor is really rich in cheese. These aren't any dieting snacks though, so you gotta mind how many you eat.. Which is really hard. I only have a few left, and I'm pretty sure my parents ate them already. Did you guys notice that my most liked foods are always cookies or crackers? I see a pattern here.

Now, we move to more sweeter things.

I'm not sure if you guys are aware of my domestic goddess side, but I usually prepare all foods for our family, as well as bake a lot. Lately I've been making super big batches of cinnamon rolls, since my parents fell in love with them. On slow days, my mom might call me downstairs just to bake her a batch. I don't really mind, I love cooking. Cinnamon rolls are my favorite kind of pastries to make, since I looooove stuffing them. I always make the dough extra buttery and later on, I put extra filling in as well. That's probably why they are so popular. I don't use 'real butter' so to day, when baking. I prefer using liquid margarine, because the flavor is much more bearable. I hate heated butter, the odor is revolting. Also, margarine is much more healthier than heavy salty butter. I'm not much of a eater though, I rarely eat my own makings, and my parents aren't as keen on sweet things.. I wish I had a brother or a sister whom I could feed until they went morbidly obese. Such fun.

~

Off to other things, I'm just going to fangirl a tad here. I went to watch the new Godzilla movie in theaters, dunno when.. But I literally cried because it was so great. I like monster movies, and even though a lot of people whined that the human storyline was in a too big of a role, it didn't bother me at all. And they had the original Godzilla from the comics! Atomic breath *mini-gasm*. Though, I'm pretty sure that Godzilla cannot die in the comics, since he's seen as a kind of a god. I'm not sure. Fuck, I can't talk about this without having a huge urge to watch it again. Here, have a picture.

FUCK.

~

Now this whole Godzilla ordeal threw me off my game. What the hell was I going to review now.. Oh right. Clothes. So. I'm totally freaking crazy about dress shirts now. I love layering them with sweaters and shirts in general, which you probably noticed judging by my few latest ootd posts. That goes for chiffon collar shirts as well. I don't have own pictures here, since I'm lacking any good cotton shirts atm. But seriously, collars. With studs and whatnot.

Here's a few examples.

Last but not least, I found an amazing dress from a small boutique that opened just a small while ago quite close to us. I'm totally in love with it, since it's got about all I could ask for. I first saw it in white, and thought they didn't have it in other colors.. But I found it in black, which is super convenient to me.

Here I am wearing it, with a belt from another dress I bought a while back ( you can see the post here ). I really like the upper part, since it has lace details. There's some on the sides as well. I tried getting closer pictures, but the lightning is terrible. We haven't had sunlight in days. Either way, it really suits me. It drapes so your tummy doesn't show, and its really tight fitting on the top. Makes your ladies look bigger ifyouknowwhatImean. I'll probably be wearing it soon enough, so I'll take better pictures then.

~

And here concludes my may favorites post. I'm glad I got it finished on time. As always, thank you for reading, and keep yourselves classy. Mia out ~

33

Hey guys,

I'm sorry, I kind of lied in the last post. I promised a double post for the weekend, but ended up not having access to my computer. I'm sorry for letting you all down. I'm here to post about my birthday party that was on Sunday, and my actual birthday that was on Friday. And you'll get some good quality pictures now too! Let's get started.

~

I turned 20 on the 23rd of May. I actually forgot, in the midst of all this exam whatnot, so when my mom hugged me on the morning of my birthday, I was dumbfounded. We had already agreed on going to the new restaurant that had opened in our town, that sells grilled foods of all kinds. We had to wait for my mom to get out of work, and that was around 3 PM. We picked her up, and went to the steakhouse. The hugest pain was, that it was around 30 degrees out, and the restaurant didn't have ANY air conditioning. Either way, we ended up ordering. I got an ox entrecote, with herb butter, grilled vegetables and fries, mom got some fish and I think dad got chicken pasta. But after ordering, they whipped up my present. I was fairly sure that they got me the camera I've been wanting, but what surprised me was the quality of the camera that they had got.

And here's my baby, Nikon D3200. It has good specs for a starter photographer, and it's fairly easy to use. I still haven't gotten used to the quality of the pictures I'm taking. Here's a few unedited pictures, for reference.

What makes me excited that it actually picks up the little color differences in my baby dogs fur! Getting good pictures of a white dog in full blown sunlight is super hard. Either way, rest of the day I spent eating cake and strawberries whilst watching movies.

We didn't do much more on Friday, the only other thing that happened, was that I ended up biting a huge chunk off of my inner cheek. The pains of growing wisdom teeth.. Sigh. The pain was terrible, but it toned down after a while.

During the night, my two best friends apparently visited my house, and dropped off a present in my postbox. At 3AM. *slowclap*. First off, there was this hair turban in ( from which I have no pictures because brainfarts ), a pink one, that you can basically wrap around your damp hair. It's like a fluffy towel, and it's really useful. The other thing they gave me, was an super cute jersey mesh top in pastel floral print. I immediately fell in love.

I'm pretty certain they got everything from Primark in Düsseldorf, which they visited for a BAP concert. I'm super happy about everything I received from them, as well as this camera from my parents.

~

On Sunday, we had a little get together between my neighbors and my family. It included my grandma and nana and papa, and our very close neighbor family, whom are sadly moving to Russia this summer. We just casually talked about everything imaginable and had coffee on our front porch.

What I wore:
Shirt and skirt - Monki
Belt - Seppälä
Shoes - H&M

Fluffbutt enjoying apple tree petals

All dis food.

Later on I met up with my bromance partner to do some catching up. Below is a selca from that happening.

What I'm wearing:

Sunglasses - H&M ( Find them from this post )
Cropped mesh top - Vero Moda

I got around 140 euro for my birthday, and I order a few things I've been meaning to get for a long time. First off are the clothes:

The first one is from BOY LONDON and you can find it from either BOY LONDONs own website or Long clothing's own website. This piece cost me 40 pounds as in just below 50 euro. Second one is from LONG CLOTHING, and it cost me 35 pounds, as in 43 euro. Both tops are one size fits all and unisex. I've been meaning to get both, especially the Long Clothing Command vest, for a very long time. I totally adore BOY, even though it's becoming a mainstream clothing line slowly.. I need to keep up my hipster appearances you know. Though the original pieces are kind of expensive and high quality, I keep seeing many copies around. Long clothing is a little less know brand, even though they have a co-op line with BOY called BOY X LONG. Anyway, this heat prevents me from wearing my BOY sweatshirt ( you can find the post here ) that I ordered a long while ago, so I wanted something more summery from this clothing line. Together with postals, this order ended up costing me 103 euro in total, and I bought them both from Long Clothing.

~

Next things I bought from eBay.

 From top left to right:
Etude House, Wonder Pore Freshener 250 ml - 13 dollars - From this seller
SKINFOOD, Honey Red Orange mask 125 g - 13,18 dollars -  From this seller
Etude House, Collagen Eye patch x 5 - 14, 20 dollars - From this seller
Whale Rubber Soft case in color mint - 2, 71 dollars -  From this seller
Galaxy Snap on hard case - 2,39 dollars - From this seller
EVERYTHING WITHOUT POSTING FEES

I've eyed the SKINFOOD mask for more than a year now, but never got around into ordering it. It comes in such a cute package, like a honey jar, with those cute swirly honey spoons as well! I just couldn't resist anymore, so I order it. I first came into contact with this brand like two or more years ago in the KPOPTOWN website, and fell in love with the brand, since the packaging they use is cute, all the items are organic and they tend to use a lot of fruits and vegetables in their products.

On the contrary, I've known about the Etude House products for a long time, and when their packaging is super super cute, the products themselves are ridden with chemicals. I never actually thought about getting any of their products, but I saw the Collagen patches as well as the Wonder Pore products being used by Venus Angelic on her youtube channel ( I'm not a fan of her really ), and they really made an instant difference on her skin. Especially the patches, they got rid of her eyebags as well as dark undereyes instantly. They weren't overly expensive in ebay, due to not having to pay posting fees, so I thought about ordering them and trying them out myself. I'll give you a review once they arrive!
Last pieces were the phone cases, which I'm obsessed with. I could almost say I bought an iPhone just for the cases.. But that sounds crazy doesn't it ? They're just so freaking cute... Not gonna take part in any mobile fanwars though. I've wanted a hipster triangle case for ages, but never found one for 4s, only for 5 and 5c or whatever the new phones are called. Now I came into contact with this one, and it suits my needs! But the real highlight in this haul is the mint colored whale case. You can actually shove your earphones and cards into its huge mouth. And look how freaking cute it is! It cost me like nothing at all as well. And it's in one of my favorite colors.

~

But this was my birthday haul, and I'll be posing and reviewing all items when they arrive. I actually managed to save some money too! I might get a little more in the end of the week, since my aunt couldn't attend the party, and might leave me a lil' sumtin sumtin :3 Anyway, I'm off to study again, one more week to go! Later on today, I'll be going to see the new X-Men movie, leave me a comment below if you have already seen it and what were your thoughts about it! Mia signing out, stay classy folks <3

Ootd for you guys!

Hey guys,

I've had a long pause from posting. I meant to do a post about my Turku exam day, but once I came back from there, I went into a coma. I just recently woke up from it, heh. Either way, today is my birthday, and I'm coming here bearing news. I'll be doing a double post this weekend, about the said exam day and also my birthday, which is today.. But what will surprise you, is that I'll be having pictures here with a looooot better quality, due to...

*drumroll*

Ta-dah! My mom and dad gave me this Nikon camera for my birthday, since I kind of wished for one. I thought I'd get a cheaper one, maybe without a lens etc.. But they got me a really good camera, and I'm so stoked ! I already snapped some shots, but I won't be using them yet since I need to a ) get to know the camera better, and b ) stop being lazy and connect the camera to my computer. Either way, now my blog may start looking more professional. Thank you thank you thank you mom and dad for this amazing gift <3.

But that's it for today, I'm sorry for the short post, but bear with me!

love, mustardmon

31

Hey guys!

It's been a small while again. I'm really busy with reading at this very moment! And oh my, how I've been stressing out. My psychological exam for the first place I'm applying for is on 20th of this month. Three days before my birthday, too.. Either way, I've been super stressed. I was pondering about what to wear, from what I got in the haul I'll be presenting to you guys today, and ended up having a small panic attack. I can't understand people who can take education so lightly, for me it's so very important. I guess I don't want to feel common. Anyway, after the first exam, my second one will be 3rd of June. So 2 weeks apart from each other. I'll know whether I got in to either by July, I guess.

What I'm most waiting for, is the trips and the exam days themselves. I get so very fidgety before the exams, but when the day hits, I am as calm as a stone. Though I have to get up really early. The town the exams are being held at, is around a 1h+ drive away. We need to leave at 6 AM, to avoid the worst traffic and still have time to search for the lecture halls my exams are in. So I need to get up at around 5 AM, or even before, since I need to put on my face and double check that I have everything with me. I'm actually getting pretty excited now, sigh. Wish it was time for preparations already.

Anyway, what I've been up to today, has been some modest lounging about, and cleaning. I finished cleaning my room, and washed three basket fulls of laundry. This may sound retarded, but I L-O-V-E doing laundry. I actually got happy and shed a few tears, when my mom got her hands on a new detergent that came out just now. The fragrance is water lily and lime. I just ran out of clothes to wash, so I need to wait for a bit.. Oh well.

What I actually came here for, was my haul update. My H&M packages arrived a while back, and I've been waiting for a good time to show you guys what I got. I even visited their store, and got a few things I will probably wear at my exams. I want to give a great first impression, heh. Stressing over trivial things, so typical of me. Anyway, let's get started!

 ~

Let's start with a statement, that EVERYTHING HERE IS BOUGHT FROM H&M. I'll put links to their website on the items that can be found there, but sadly, not everything is available.

1. Messenger bag, 19, 95 euro ( you can find it here )
2. Body spray, fragrance is Desert Rose, 3, 95 euro ( find it here )
3. Woolen cropped top, 19, 95 euro ( bought from store )
4. Bomber jacket, 10 euro, season sale
5. Shimmer and matte nude eyeshadows, 4, 95 euro, and a double-ended brush, 3, 95 euro ( find them here and here )
6. Leggings in floral pattern, 12, 95 euro ( find them here )
7. Round sunglasses, 6, 95 euro ( bought online, but they ran out ): )
8. 3x rose earrings, 2,95 euro, bought from store
9. Shorts, 19,95 euro ( find them here )
10. Sleeveless dress, 29, 95 euro, bought online but they were out again >:

 ~

Let's go in the numerical order then.

Here's the bag I was obsessing about in my favorites post. I can't recall when the package arrived, but it was more than a week ago. I was expecting a much more bigger bag, but was pleasantly surprised when I discovered, that as most bags, this can carry a lot more than you would think judging from its exterior. I love the hipster print and it's pastel-y colors, that's the main reason why I bought it. Another thing that I love, is the huge buckles that the straps have. They aren't adjustable though, but it doesn't really affect anything.

Here I am wearing it, just to give you an idea how big the bag is.

 ~

Here's my bodymist. The name is, as stated before, Desert rose, and it consists of apple, rose and violet. I bet that's why the liquid itself is violet, har har. Either way, the fragrance is really pungent, and I really like it. Only downsides are, that the spray mechanism doesn't work as well as in some other cases, and you usually end up spraying yourself 20 cm lower than you intended. Also, the fragrance is really fleeting. You put it on, and it'll last maybe a few hours, but definitely not a whole day, as some higher priced products do. It wasn't super expensive, and the fragrance still pleases me, so I wouldn't whine about such trivial things.

 ~

Now, for my new favorite item.. The cropped top that I bought.

As I said before, it's a woolen top, well, a mix of wool and polyester, but mostly wool. It's light enough to not make you sweat your balls off, if you want to layer it with a chiffon shirt like I did below...

.. And it is warm enough to use as a simple woolen top, if it's a little chillier outside, like I did below. ( Of course, this doesn't apply to winter ).

Actually, the upper outfit co-ord, is what I'm going to use next Tuesday for my exam. Wanna look presentable, yet girly!

 ~
Next off, is my new bomber jacket that I found from the seasonal sales section. I'm not quite sure what the real price was, but I paid 10 euro for it.
I'm sorry about the terrible quality of most of these pictures, we are having terrible cloudy weather, so the lightning sucks, as well as my old rusty camera. Either way, this jacket is super comfortable, but thin, and not very roomy. As in, you can't have thick clothes beneath it, just like one thin shirt or something like that. What I love about it, is that it has these cute cross-stitches all over the jacket. Like an old, vintage chair. You can't sadly see the details, which sucks ( fuck you Finnish summer ).

 ~
Next, my makeup thingies. Sorry I didn't do swatches, but as the title says, they're nude colors. I tried my very best, but they only left different shades of shimmer on my skin. I couldn't get them to show in camera at all, but they're pretty much what they seem like on the packaging.
And also, a new eyeshadow brush <3

 ~
Next are my laze-about leggings, in that kind of a floral pattern that I'm crazy about.
They're actually the same kind as a pair of Star Wars pattern leggings I have, but in different pattern of course. They had the same kind in a total of, at least, 9 prints. I now have these and the Star wars ones, but I think they had one in aztec pattern as well, and I might get those later on as well. They're a slim fit, and wont start bagging after use. I actually slept a few nights in these, since my legs started cramping due to cold air.. No bagging. I promise.

 ~
Another new favorite! I probably shouldn't say that as much, I guess it takes away the meaning behind the word 'favorite'.

Ta-dah! New sexy round sunglasses that seem fuzzy in the camera. The bag they were in, left small little plastic hairs on it, and I didn't notice before after taking the picture. Enjoy my fuzzy sunglasses. Either way, you probably know that I'm as blind as a bat, but I just had to have a round frame sunglasses in my collection. None of the proper eyeglass stores had any round frames, so I bought an inexpensive one. Sadly now I can only use them on occasions where I'm not obliged to see in front of me. They look so good on me though, it feels like a waste.. I wonder if some stores will put lenses on already bought frames.. Need to investigate.

My dad has always said that my head is huge, which it is. He keeps giving me remarks about it, but these sunglasses are so large, that they make my head look almost normal. Huge plus! #inspiration

 ~
These earrings I actually reviewed in the post before this one, so I'll just put a link of it here, and just leave you with a picture of them.

 ~
Here are my most favorite shorts of all time. They are almost like a skort, but not at all. They actually make me feel less fat, which makes me super super happy.

Look at me, I almost look normal in them. I'm seriously happy. And they're cute too! They actually fit together with the cropped wool top I reviewed before, but having shorts and a woolen shirt mixed, seems rather odd. I hope for suitable weather for the mix anyway.

~
Last but not least, my summer dress. I must say, in front, that I'm a tad disappointed in it, mostly because it was too long. Dresses that reach my knee, make me look odd, imo.

Here we are. I guess it doesn't look that bad in the picture ( like the new angle I'm photographing from btw? ). I like the possibilities on this one, you can make it more dressy with jewelry and stockings, or more casual with a jacket and woolen stockings. Another great thing about it is that the belt is removable. It's actually a pretty tight waist-fit, but usable with other things too, I'd recon.
I love gold and black, as you probably know xD.

~
And that concludes my haul for today. Remember, everything here is from H&M WEBSHOP or SHOP in general. I tried not writing too much, to avoid a long post, but I guess it got stretched a long the way. I'll leave you a selca at the end, and talk to you as soon as possible. If not, I'll most definitely will be posting on the 20th, because you know, my exams. Tomorrow I'm going to go see Godzilla btw, soooo stoked. It's more the original Godzilla than in the movie which was released in the year 2001. Either way,  talk to you later, keep yourselves classy, I love you guys! <3

TOO. MUCH. LIGHT.. BURNS.. MY ... EYES. Oh wait, I have fabulous sunglasses.

April favorites

This is a late favorites post, I know. I don't have an excuse good enough to explain why this is so long overdue. I guess I got lazy and focused solely on studying. Either way, I'll cut right to the chase, and show you my monthly favorites!

~

First off, we have my absolute favorite show at this moment, The Guild. It's a show that's directed by Felicia Day, where she plays a gaming chick whose guildmate takes her online flirtation too seriously, and just shows up at her doorstep one day. Then she, in the hopes of getting rid of this said dude, meets up with rest of her guildmates, and crazy shit ensues. I've watched this show before, since I absolutely love Felicia Day, who is a known gamer girl who plays, for example, World of Warcraft! It's been a while since I actually watched any of the episodes, I think it was on the third season when I last laid my eyes on it. Now it's finished with 6 seasons. All of the episodes spread out from eight to ten minutes, and they are super funny. I actually relate to most of the characters. It's an amazing show, I recommend it to all gamers and nerds a like. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

~

Next, my makeup favorites from the last month.

Here's Fit me powder from Maybelline New York. I think I mentioned before, that I don't do powders or foundations, but now that I tried this, I loved the matte finish. I want my makeups feel like they aren't there, you know? I don't want to feel like I have anything on, and I hate how most makeups feel like you'd put on a mask of yourself. A version you aren't. This powder is light as a feather, you won't notice it's there, and it'll give you a nice finishing look. It even convinced me, a true powder hater.

I apologize for the terrifying quality and condition of the product. I've had this Gosh BB Skin Perfecting Kit Highlighter + Concealer for quite a while now, but it's a great product. Mostly because of the highlighter. It's suitable for all my highlighting needs. Only downside is that the concealer is too thin and doesn't actually cover anything. I have other concealers I use anyway, and I bought this mostly because of the great highlighter.

Again, a product that looks terrible because I've used it so much. This is another of the Maybelline New York line and it's a eyeshadow, obviously. I started using this as a eyeliner of a sorts, applying some of it to the lower and upper corners of my lashlines. It gives my lashes some ( not real ) extra volume. As in, it makes it seem like I have more lashes than I do. Wonders of makeup.

~

From the clothing and accessorize side of my life, I have two new entries that are my favorite. They are both something you guys haven't seen yet, due to my inability to get posts up.

My H&M package came! Yay. It's been a while since it came actually. I was going to put a link to the post I had about it.. But the post is gone? What the hell, blogger. I need to check into this later, but meanwhile, here's a picture of my pastel hipster carrier bag ( too many terms). It's actually pretty small, but as all lady bags, it can contain a lot more stuff than it looks like it can contain. I was positive I could only get my makeup bag and wallet there, but turned out I could cram three 500+ paged books in there, and my wallet and phone. It's pretty spacey. And it looks so cute, I'm totally in love with it <3.

Crappy picture, yay. This is from a small haul I did, but haven't posted up yet. I'll post it with my other H&M stuff, since WHADDAYAKNOW THIS IS FROM H&M TOO, God I'm pathetic. Either way, these rose earrings, are suuper cute. I always buy a set of three, since I have three holes in both of my ears. Nothing much to explain here, I just really like these earrings.

~

Last but not least, my favorite movie of  ( actually all time ) last month, V for Vendetta!

The title is in Finnish yeah yeah I know. I've always loved this movie, though I don't like Portman. But this movie.. Pure. Genius. And Hugo Weaving's voice makes my ladyhood tremble. I did not say that. Sorry. Trying to keep things PG. But if you haven't watched this yet, WATCH IT. YOU MUST. It's perfect.

~

Alright, I've finally concluded this list. I'm sorry it took so long, please forgive me. As always, stay classy, and talk to you soon in the hopes of my haul update. Love you!
