February Favorites

I thought about starting a new section on my blog, and that is grouping up the things I've loved the past month. I'll try to write a similar post in the end of each month, listing all the things that I have been keen on doing/buying/listening/eating/etc. etc. during the said month! This would've been way cooler if I had written it starting from January, but no can do, at least now the mini headline rhymes.

Let's start with what I've been watching. One of my absolute favorite shows currently is Shingeki No Kyojin like it is everybody else´s too, apparently. I mean, I had my reservations. I hate when people hype up a show and then it doesn't deliver ( like the Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Arrow.. ) but with this, the hype was deserved. I used to watch a lot more anime than I do now, same goes for manga, and if I do, I usually choose shoujo as my category. It's either high school romantic bullcrap for me, or ruthless gore. A good example on the gore category is Gantz. I've read the whole manga series and watched the live action movies, it's perfect. If you like blood and bits of intestines flying with a splash of good storyline, please, go ahead and give this show a try. Same with Shingeki. It wasn't as gory as it could've been, what with subtle censoring of the Titans eating humans, but the whole series has this eerie, creepy feeling to it that keeps you captured. Also, the awesome characters don't make it any easier. It only has the first season out, and a few special episodes, and as much as I HATE waiting for new episodes to come out the normal pace, this is a series I can't just abandon. I might even watch the first season once or twice.

Second thing that I've been watching, is Reign. This series just started airing in our country a few weeks back, and it's about how Ireland's queen is supposed to marry France's future king in order to access their military fleets for the protection of Ireland from English army forces. She loves the prince, but due to unforeseen events they cannot marry, and also France's current queen opposes their marriage for she believes that her son will be killed whilst courting with the Irish Queen and so forth and so on. I like these kinds of shows, not all of them though ( Vikings.... Not my cup of tea ) but this one was so captivating. I love the dresses, the actors, the plot.. Even if I can sense that the plot won't be progressing fast enough and it'll start drag on and on at some point... Just that, there's something about this show that interests me to the greatest point. It might be because I think the Irish Queen, Mary (played by Adelaide Kane ) is super beautiful in an wild, unkempt way.

Then onwards to the things that I've been listening. There's actually only one thing that I've been more into lately, and that is the kpop group VIXX. I don't like all their music, but the one's that I do like, are very similar to another ( for example Hyde, Voodoo doll and On and on ). I'm not a big fangirl, I don't have a huge bank of pictures of members, I rarely know their names ( exception to the rule is Big bang and EXO ) and I don't obsessively listen to their music... But if I ever like more than one song from a group, it means I really like them. Plus, kpop groups are infamous for having crazy haircolors, and my god do I love following their hair history ( creepy, not at all :-D).

And to the last category, what I've been obsessively eating. So, I started a diet kind of a thing that's been going on for a month or so now. I only eat porridge in the mornings, soup in the day and rarely I eat apples/bananas in evening.. But since my kcal intake has been too low, I allowed myself to eat stuff with wheat on it. And I went crazy. I've been binge-eating toast and Tuc Sourcream and Onion flavored salted crackers. You'd think I'd put on weight when I've been eating, seriously like three packs of the crackers every day, but apparently not. I should slow down... I probably won't, at least not for the next few days... I feel ashamed.

That's it, I hope y'all liked this post, complementary selca in the end as always, keep yerselves classy!

Greetings my fellow netizens,

I've no idea when I last posted. I guess it hasn't been too long, right? My life goes on, slowly, lacking anything interesting. I got back into gaming though, I had a break for about 3 months in order to study more efficiently but now that I'm not in such a bad spot anymore, I can enjoy my free time to its full extent. I probably haven't mentioned this, but I'm a hardcore World of Warcraft-player.. Or I was. Now I mostly play casually, leveling different characters, raiding from time to time.. Enjoying different aspects of the game and so forth. I lost a great online friend not so long ago and we used to play WoW together quite a lot. It seems a tad empty without him, but no can do. Hopefully he's doing fine!

That's pretty much what I've been doing. Playing, cleaning... Visited an optician to get my eyesight tested, and whaddaya know, it's getting worse. Nothing big though, it does that annually. I chose this moment to visit, since my old eyeglasses have been seriously injured by little fluffy white paws with too sharp claws *sighs*. Also, I thought that I'd better get my eye wear updated for my upcoming hair event. What I chose ( sorry for the lack of pictures, they're going to arrive in a few weeks and I wouldn't want to take photos of rims with stickers on them, it's unappealing ) was these oval, plastic rims in the color of tan. I'm not quite sure is the color tan or beige or whatever, but they compliment my face and it's like a new start for me, since I've always been using these boxy metallic black rims and yeah. Also, the place where I went, Specsavers, has this campaign going on, 'Buy one set of glasses and get sunglasses for free'. Obviously, I'm blind as a bat, so my sunglasses need some tweaks too. These were the same frame model as my upcoming eyeglasses, but with glossy and matte black rims and bigger lenses. I'll add a picture once they arrive.

Another thing we did, was some minor woodwork, heh. When I took down my old wardrobe, I told my father to keep the mirror door, since seriously why waste money on a new mirror when we can make one as easy as pie. It didn't take long, just a few touches of paint on old pieces of wood and voila, we got ourselves a standing mirror.

Here's the finished product. I switched my rack and my bed around and it feels like I had a whole new room in my hands! So excite. Either way, I know this wasn't anything big, just small uninteresting updates on my life, but hope you enjoyed anyway!

Stay classy people!

I'm back,

and feeling fabulous! I had nothing interesting to blog about recently, but now I felt inspired, so brace yourselves. As you well know, if you read my latest post, I got rid of my terrible wardrobe and got me a cloth rack! I've seen a few people with them, but not too many, I guess it's not a popular interior choice. I had been planning to get one for quite some time now, and found one at a reasonable price and with a home delivery included.

Yesterday, it finally arrived! After a modestly short time and a fairly easy assembly, my cloth rack was done!

Here it is, with crappy instagram-quality. Sadly, we thought that the structure was a tad too weak to handle all the weight of my clothes, so we took the whole thing apart and build it anew with some strong wood and stuff. We got it done today, and I already hung all my clothes on it.

And here we are. Perfect. Now I can see all my clothes, no more scavenging through irrationally chaotic baskets! Best thing I ever spent my money on.

Onto other things, I've been studying a lot for my entrance exams. I've almost gone through with one of the books for Helsinki Uni, but I switched to Turku's books, since they fascinate me more, and I'm still deciding whether I want to attend Turku or Helsinki. Sigh.

Here's a heap of my books, still missing one. Amazon-chan, hayaku! Oh, and a quick update on my workouts; I'm 5 kg down, it's going so fast! 5 more kg to go!

Anyway, this was a quick update, but I'm glad I got to do it! Keep yourselves classy bois and gulls!

13 - Late Valentine's

I'm really late, I know,

But I had a really great valentine's with my friends and family. You might've guessed that I'm currently single, but in my opinion valentine's should be something that you share with your friends, instead of your lover. I thought like this in a relationship, so don't think of this as a rant of a bitter single woman.

Either way, I spent the day getting ready for our 'date' in the new chinese restaurant in the town. I took a long shower, dried my hair, put on my pretty face and curled my hair.

I don't really use makeup on regular basis, since it feels like a mask to me. I never use foundation or powder, I rather make sure my skin is so clean and even that I don't need it. What really started to tickle my pickle, though, was drawing on my eyebrows. God, I love it. The most fun thing I've ever done to my face. I don't really use eyemakeup since my eyes are unnaturally round, so all eyeshadows  tend to look like I got punched. The only eyemakeup I use is light eyeshadow on my browbone and double layers of mascara. Other than that, I'm makeup free.

As I got my clothes on, mom came home from work. She had got me a super cute shirt, necklace and two plain tops as a valentine's gift, and I ended up wearing them to the restaurant. We are super close, which we didn't use to be, but I'm glad I got over my teen angst and started giving her the respect she deserves.

Shortly after she arrived, I left. I met up with my friends over at our old school, since my other friends little brother had his prom, and we went to watch it. It brought back memories from my own prom, bittersweet memories, that is. After that, we headed straight to the restaurant.

Sadly, things didn't go as planned there. Our order took around 1 hour to arrive, but it sure was delish! Too bad we got a tad angry watching people who arrived after us get their food before we did.

My friends ate spring rolls, beef with onions and something with mushrooms, as well as fried rice to go with it, I had deep fried king prawns and bejing duck, and they were so plentiful I didn't manage to eat all of them. After the amazing food, bad things ensued. Everybody else got their checks to their tables, but we didn't. It took us like another hour until I finally went to the counter to pay. It was cheap though, but I doubt I'll ever visit there again.

I got some homemade chocolates, cupcakes and a movie Norwegian Wood as a gift! I didn't get them anything though, since I've been holed up home, sick. I had a really great time! I hope all of you had a great valentine's, whether you were alone, with friends, with family or with your lover. <3

Such love,
much choclit,
so candlelight.
Valentwow.

Long time no see,

I've been trying to get myself better, since my cold kept on persisting. It's nasty, but no can do. All my winters are like this. Either way, I started doing some serious working out, since I've gained a few extra pounds along the way. I'm not much into exercising or anything of the sorts, but I've really let myself go and I couldn't live with that fact. I started modestly doing some yoga and crunches, but they didn't seem to have any effect ( I don't like going out to the gyms, I hate the social part of it as well as the expenses ). Then I stumbled upon this picture in the interwebs.

It's from a cluster of similar pictures, but the original is so small you can't see anything from it without zooming in. I started with this Hunger Games tribute workout since it's one of the less difficult workouts, and I'm really out of shape. But by gods did it work.

I started with some simple yoga and ab-crunches about an week ago, but it didn't feel like enough ( no burning, no muscular pain ) so I decided to give this a go. After first evening of doing only the first level of three sets, I was drenched in sweat and after an hour my legs were in intense pain. I thought, that finally I'll be getting results! Next day I did two sets in the morning, followed by a 40 minute walk. Then 2 sets in the day accompanied with a 1 hour walk. This morning I did the same ( 2 sets, 40 min walk ) and weighted myself. 2 kilos off! I don't know is it good progress, but it's progress.

I'm proud of myself. I'm not ashamed to admit that I've gotten a little round on the edges, most do, but I'm glad I found my resolve and actually did something about it, instead of only whining home. Hopefully I'll be in shape by summer.

Now, to more pressing matters. My shoes and mesh-shirt arrived! The shipping was fast and painless ( though customs are a pain in the buttocks ) and the items were in top condition. I never got a good enough picture of the mesh-shirt, but I'll add crappy instagram pictures below.

There we go. I even put a picture of the ring I found from the Nelly.com sales. My favorite has to be the shoes, I'm into big buckles, but the mesh-dress combo is just amazing as well. Well worth using my money. The shoes had a few frills in the stitching, but nothing big. They aren't even slippery on ice, which is a big + in the Finnish enviroment. The mesh-dress had no frilly stitching, the material was soft and flexible, and there was nothing bad I could say about it. Ring was good quality as well, and you could even adjust it to the size of your fingers.

I've also been tearing my wardrobe apart. I finally got around into ordering a cloth rack for myself, since the wardrobe I bought years ago sucks major balls. The baskets kept falling from the railings, you couldn't get your clothes in, and once you got them in, you couldn't get them out. Now I had enough, and ordered an adjustable rack from Germany. Only for 30 euros, shipping to your doorstep included! I ordered from this online Finnish auctionsite called Huuto.net that has about anything you could wish for. I've sorted through my clothes, given old ones away, moving the ones that I use in another room with all of my shoes and my bags, and now I'm just waiting for my dad to take it apart. The only thing I'm going to keep, is the mirror door that I'm turning into a standing mirror. It'd be a waste of money to buy a new one, when I can make one for free.

That's pretty much everything that's happened while I've been away. Forgive me for spelling errors and different text-styling, I can't reach my computer and I'm doing this via my phone. Complimentary selca in the end! Byee!

Yo,

I'm sick. Like, really really sick. Mom has been writing in cold sweat, fever and a terrible cold for the past week, and of course, I got it eventually too. My nose is stuffy, my throat is sore, my head hurts and I have a 38 degree fever. Oh the humanity!

I've been trying to pass the time, since when I'm sick I rarely can sleep at all. Last night was hellish anyway. I went to bed around 11 PM, feeling really terrible because of the cold. I kept on scrolling through creepypasta in boredom, when I suddenly felt really weird. I thought of it as cold playing its tricks on me, but then my vision started to get blurry and I didn't have the strenght to even lift up my arm. I gathered all my resolve, and wrapped myself into my cardigan as I went downstairs to measure my blood sugar levels. You people do remember, from health ed class, that normal person should have their sugar level around 3-6? Mine is usually from 8 to 20, depending on the day. Mostly over 10, either way. But this time, the meter said 0.2! I had to check it twice, since the device can give false readings, but it kept on persisting. I was crying and laughing and shaking ( normal when your sugar levels are too high or too low, you can't control your emotions at all ) trying to eat cookies. I don't pass out easily, but it was a borderline miracle that I was not in a coma! I blame it on the cold, when I'm sick my health tends to spiral out of control. Coughs turn into bronchitis and pneumonias ( had both of them more than once ), fever messes up my sugar levels, cold feet turn into muscle ripping cramps... The funs of diabetes, am I right? Either way, that's over now, I'm just dead-tired and feeling stuffy. Probably have sinusitis too. It hurts when I hang my head down, that's a sign of sinusitis they say.

Either way, I started passing my time with buying new stuff, again. Been searching for the perfect mesh-shirt for myself, because who doesn't love mesh-shirts. Fishnet is a thing I need in my life, as well, and Dolls kill provided me with a perfect mesh-dress this morning. I was browsing through my Instagram-account and their newcomer items caught my eye.

You can find this item here.

This luxurious piece was 60 dollars and international shipping is 20 dollars on top of it. By just looking at it, I can't wait for it to arrive. They said it takes 4 business days to get here, so I should be getting it around this week if I'm lucky. It's actually a two-piece dress too, since the stretchy tank top under it is a removable piece. You can match both the top jersey part and the tank top with other stuff, and that's why I was convinced to buy this, since it's like getting two pieces of clothing. Other reason was the fishnet, since I've only got one fishnet jersey in my collection, and I felt like I needed another one.

To be honest, I think I should cut down the online shopping. I've gotten really used to it now, and once I'm out of my parents house, I'm certain I won't be able to keep this kind of consumption up. Guess I'm just enjoying not having to spend money on household stuff other than food, for as long as it lasts.

I'm off to feel miserable and sick and watch some anime! Keep yerselves classy, everybody!

10

Good evening,

It's been a great day so far. My dad returned from Africa last night around 05:50 PM, though I didn't wake up when he did. I'm not exactly a light sleeper once I do fall asleep. He brought me a lot of candy, brands that I can't recognize. Then we proceeded to give him his present and cake during the day. He was happy, and now he's celebrating with mom downstairs. That means...

I got a 'free' day! Basically, I can game, clean my room, chat and chill in my own room while my parents babysit our baby dog. It's really rare to get to do stuff like that, only once or twice in a few weeks. So I started off with finally finishing cleaning my room, making my bed and taking out the trash. Then I proceeded to BUY MORE STUFF. YES. I BUY A LOT OF STUFF. IT JUST KEEPS HAPPENING.

Ehm, either way. I found a pair of amazing shoes from Nelly. I've been saving up some money, not knowing what to buy, trying to decide between clothes and games. I've been meaning to get Lucius for PC, Dead space for xbox and Alice: Madness Returns for xbox, but since I rarely have any time to play anymore, I thought about getting them later on. Then was the problem of getting clothes. Shirts, leggings, cardigans, accessorize.. I was torn. First I thought about ordering a few things from Seppälä's website, but I have ordered so many clothes recently, that I wasn't really overly excited of the things that I found. Then I visited Nelly online shop, and stumbled upon a pair of amazing shoes and a ring!

Look at dem shoes. I'm seriously in love. Those buckles stole my heart, honestly. They are amazing. And the shoes weren't even pricey, only 29.95 e. The ring, I've got to be honest, I bought only to fill up the price gap.. Though it looks really good as well. I lack a good ring for my jewelry collection, so maybe this wasn't a bad purchase at all. I'm a terrible materialist.. Sigh.

But nonetheless, the shoes were probably the best purchase I've done in a while ( counting out the BOY LONDON haul ). I hope they arrive as promised, within 2-5 business days. Now, I plan to play SWTOR throughout the night. Stay classy, people!
